Students are expected to follow all school rules when in the library. Students using the library should work in a way that respects all other people using the facility.
Therefore the following standards and guidelines are observed:

Pre-Quarantine:
The OHS Library is open to students from 8:15am -3:15am (do not come in 1st period without an adult, do not pass through). Quarantine Library Information Hours 12:05pm-3:05pm
Cell phone usage and other electronics are not permitted unless noted by teacher.
Conversational tones of accountable talk are encouraged. Otherwise a quiet atmosphere for studying must be maintained at all times. Socializing is not tolerated.
Food and drink are prohibited in the library. Eating, and drinking will not be tolerated.
A teacher may send a maximum of five students to work on assignments to the library per class period. The library should be notified before the students' arrival by calling #62033 or emailing. This assures space for the students.
Students must present a Library Permit signed by the teacher with the students' assignment written on the pass. All students must sign in at the circulation desk.
After students enter the library, they will not be given permission to leave for other errands, such as lockers, telephone, restroom, etc. If a student has such a need, he or she will be checked out of the library and sent back to the classroom.
The computers are for schoolwork only. Game-playing, use of social -media, and otherwise restricted websites by the district, such as YouTube and Vine are not permitted.
Students are not to alter the desktop or setup on any computer.
Teachers are encouraged to schedule planned visits to the library a week in advance. See Overton Library Request form https://scsk12.sharepoint.com/sites/OvertonLibraryUsers. Teachers must stay with their class the entire time!
Make sure you have all of your belonging, your area is clean,you have logged off the computer, pushed your chair and return all materials to the proper areas you found them in before you exit the library.
Any student in violation of these regulations will likely have library/computer privileges revoked for that day and may be revoked for the quarter if repeat violations occur.
